Jeffrey Pethybridge is a poet, editor, and curator. He is the author of Force Drift: An Essay in the Epic (Tupelo Press, 2025), which won the Big Other Book Award in nonfiction. His first collection Striven, The Bright Treatise (Noemi Press 2013) was selected as one of the ten best debuts of 2013 by Poets & Writers. His work appears internationally in journals such as diSonare (MX); White Wall Review (CA); Writing Utopia (UK); the Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day; Chicago Review, Volt, Best American Experimental Writing, Manifold Criticism; The Iowa Review, New American Writing and others.
He teaches in the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University; with Anne Waldman, he is the Co-Artistic Director of the Summer Writing Program.
He lives in so-called Denver with the poet and artist Carolina Ebeid; together with Patrick Pethybridge they edit Visible Binary.
He grew up in Virginia.
